Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Club in Scarsdale, New York is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Under Superintendent’s supervision, the Assistant helps manage and participates in the golf course maintenance department’s day-to-day activities, while maintaining a high standard of quality to meet the expectations of a demanding membership. The Assistant will work with existing management staff in the planning, scheduling and supervising the maintenance of: putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers and associated support facilities. He/she instructs equipment operators in safe and efficient operation and care of all equipment. The Assistant supervises and participates in chemical and fertilizer applications, calibration of equipment, record keeping, hand watering and syringing of playing surfaces, operation and maintenance of pumps, irrigation and drainage systems. He/she also assists in personnel management of the maintenance staff and is responsible for scheduling and supervising maintenance work to achieve the most efficient utilization of workers and equipment. The Assistant reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and may serve in the Superintendent’s capacity during his absence.

Requirements:
The successful candidate must be self motivated, organized, dedicated, detail-oriented and able to work in a team environment.
A degree in turfgrass management or related field.
2 years or more of golf course experience.
Recent or upcoming college graduates encouraged to apply.
Must have or obtain a NYS pesticide license within 6 months of hire.
Good oral and written communication skills.
