Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Country Club in East Falmouth, Massachusetts is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
As a key member of the property’s golf course maintenance team, the Assistant Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and assists with the day-to-day oversight of the maintenance and agronomic practices of the golf course and adjacent grounds, including but not limited to the clubhouse landscaping and maintenance complex.

Position Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all phases of golf course maintenance as directed by Superintendent.
• Supervises foreman, irrigation technician and other employees in the maintenance department as needed and instructed by Superintendent.
• Prepares weekly schedules for foreman, irrigation staff and other employees in the maintenance department as directed by superintendent.
• Issues written and oral instructions to maintenance personnel; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Assists the Superintendent in preparing short-term and long-term agronomic strategies to maintenance of the golf course daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly fertilization, irrigation, etc. schedules.
• Calibrates and operates pesticide sprayers.
• Manages proper application and documentation of all chemicals and fertilizers as outlined in agronomic plan and weekly schedule.
• Assist the superintendent in development, presentation, and documentation of safety meetings.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Must have 1 -2 years turfgrass management experience.
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented.
Must possess basic computer skills – Word and Excel.
Supervisory experience strongly desired.
Strong business aptitude and passion for the golf business strongly desired.
A basic knowledge of budgeting and expense management strongly desired.
GCSAA Member or apprentice preferred, but not required.
The assistant must lead by example both on and off the golf course.
Candidates applying must be familiar with planning and executing daily schedules for staff, assistants, chemical and fertilizer applications as well as irrigation repairs and events.
The individual hired should be comfortable in training staff, as well as communicating with other club department heads, members and their guests.
