Summer Golf Course Intern
Golf Club in Gladstone, New Jersey is looking for a Summer Golf Course Intern.

Position Overview:
Successful applicants will work closely with the Superintendent and Assistants to advance their skills and knowledge in all aspects of greens and grounds maintenance. Interns will be exposed to the daily duties that are required to operate a high-end private facility (e.g. mowing of all playing surfaces, rolling, course set-up, bunker maintenance, etc), and special emphasis will be put on the many essential practices that are required to produce and maintain “championship” level turf. Including: Fertilizer and pesticide application, not only the physical application of, but also the reasoning behind and timing of each application, along with the proper calibration techniques on a wide variety of equipment. Proper water management techniques, with extensive training on detailed hand-watering techniques. Development of leadership skills, with the opportunity to direct small crews on day to day activities and projects. In-house project management from planning and scheduling, to implementation. As well as the execution, timing, and reasoning of a myriad of cultural practices.

Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a Turfgrass Management program at an accredited university.
Golf course maintenance experience and knowledge of the game is preferred, but not required.
We are looking for energetic, hard-working individuals who bring a great attitude and are looking to succeed in the industry.
Applicants with strong personal characteristics and a willingness to learn are more important than work experience.

Compensation:
$14.00 per hour.
