Full-time Head Golf Professional
Resort in Big Sky, Montana is looking for a Full-time Head Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Oversee and manage the daily operations of the golf club. Responsible for hiring, training, and managing Assistant Golf Professionals, Golf Shop Sales Associates, Golf Service Attendants for the highest level of customer service. Maintain performance reviews for all golf associates. Produce timely and accurate payroll reports, payroll edits, and service charge distribution reports. Prepare schedule for all golf associates. Staff discipline including coaching, oral warnings, written warnings, suspension, and termination, and all appropriate documentation. Maintain regular communication with Human Resources regarding recruiting, staffing, performance reviews, terminating associates, etc. Maintain the inventory for operating supplies, guest supplies, and locker room supplies. Assist with starting groups on the first tee in order to provide an introduction to the course and to ensure proper policies and procedures are carried out. Maintain the golf cart fleet to ensure the cleanliness and routine maintenance programs are completed. Implement and oversee tournaments and special events including scheduling, tournament preparation, marketing, scoreboards, prizes, etc. Responsible for golf handicap maintenance. Schedule and conduct golf lessons, both individual and group. Monitor expenses within the Golf Operations budget. Purchase merchandise for the golf shop. Review marketing trends for inventory revisions. Coordinate uniform needs for golf staff. Coordinate radio policies, procedures, and repairs. Uphold the core values, and lead associates to do the same. Other duties as assigned by VP of Golf. Golf shop counter operations such as answering phone, tee time reservations, golf shop sales and customer service. Assist with non-golf event set-up and operations. Cover required break time for golf associates. Maintain a high level of golfing ability. Attend continuing education programs offered by the PGA.

Requirements:
High school graduate Class “A” PGA member in good standing.
Computer literate.
Must have the ability to provide the highest level of customer service in the industry. Strong interpersonal skills.
Must be detail oriented and organized with ability to multi-task.
Flexibility of hours and willingness to work more than 40 hours per week, including holidays and weekends on a regular basis.
Must have ability to manage and motivate employees.
Ability to manage staff, including hiring, training, coaching, discipline, etc.
Ability to use online recruiting system for reviewing applications, interviewing, and hiring new associates.
Ability to create proper documentation for recruiting, coaching, safety, discipline, etc.
Ability to maintain proper budgeted levels of supplies and staff.
Ability to manage and implement any type of golf tournament format.
Ability to maintain handicap program.
Ability to perform various types of golf club repair including re-gripping and re-shafting.
Ability to coordinate and adjust staff scheduling based on staffing budgets, club needs, and employee requests.
Ability to teach and understand PGA recommended methods of golf.
Ability to react with market trends and adjust inventory accordingly.
Ability to coordinate with other departments on a daily basis.
Ability to negotiate with various vendors in order to obtain the desired guest and operating supplies at the best quality and price.
Ability to run all aspects of the retail shop, including ordering, displays, pricing, inventory, etc.

Desirable:
College degree preferred.
Prior Golf Professional work experience at resort and private golf facilities.
Strong understanding of high-end private club operations.
Ability to be understanding to staff and empower staff.
Energetic people person.
Public speaking skills.
Ability to type.
Working knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
