Assistant Golf Professional
Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
The assistant professional duties include but are not limited to the following: provide members with superior customer service, learn each and every part of the golf operation, provide a friendly atmosphere for members and guests to enjoy the game of golf, promote the game of golf through quality instruction and clinics, and provide members with opportunities to enjoy competitive events.

Duties:
• Merchandising of the golf shop, including but not limited to receiving, pricing, product displays, and sales of merchandise. Constant awareness to proper inventory and pricing controls, inclusive of meeting budget sales and cost of goods.
• Assist in the management, planning and execution of tournament programs.
• Provide quality instruction/clinics for members and guests.
• Assist in the management, planning and execution of all outside golf events.
• Assist the Head Golf Professional with the implantation of the junior golf programs.
• Monthly counting and data entry of golf shop inventory.

Supporting Functions:
• Assist the outside operations with management and mentor of staff.
• Work closely with the Women’s and Senior’s golf association.
• Assisting and performing Club fitting and Club repair.
• Assist with training of all golf shop staff.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the golf operation.

Other Duties:
• Assimilate into the culture through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of our club dynamics. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.
• Attend organized meetings, including but not limited to: Town Hall, Open Enrollment (if applicable), Health Fair, etc.
• Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the club.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Product knowledge of all products carried in the golf shop is mandatory.
Computer knowledge of all golf related applications is mandatory (tournament, handicap, retail, and tee time software).
High School graduate or equivalent, required.
Four year college degree, preferred.
Two or more years of private club experience, preferred.
PGA membership, preferred.

Compensation:
$35,000.00 per year.
