Temporary Full-time Men’s Assistant Golf Coach
University in San Antonio, Texas is looking for a Temporary Full-time Men’s Assistant Golf Coach.

Position Overview:
The Temporary Assistant Men’s Golf Coach is responsible for assisting in planning and administering all aspects of the Men’s Soccer program as assigned. Under the direction of the Head Men’s Golf Coach, the Assistant Men’s Golf Coach should model and maintenance an exemplary student-athlete concept and the personal development of a student athlete who’s on and off the court/field behavior reflects favorably upon the community in general and the athletics program in particular.

Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for providing coaching and administrative assistance to the Head Coach in all areas of the Softball program.
2. Assists with scouting and recruitment of quality student-athletes.
3. Monitors academic progress and eligibility status of student-athletes.
4. Participates in public relations activities and fundraising.
5. Ensures the highest professional standards and behavior with regard to adherence to NAIA rules and regulations.
6. Advise student-athletes regarding rules and regulations related to financial aid and eligibility.
7. Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary, personal matters while adhering to FERPA guidelines.
8. Monitor academic progress and eligibility status for student-athletes in class and study hall.
9. Participates in annual continuing education programs regarding NAIA rules.
10. Coordinates and assist administration with home and visiting teams game day activities (schedule practices, setup and breakdown of equipment, personnel, field set up, etc.).
11. Works with Sports Information Director to communicate the accomplishments and endeavors of the team, both individuals and as a whole.
12. Assists the Head Coach in preparing eligibility documentation.
13. Submits transportation requests and required travel documentation to the Athletic Director as required.
14. Assists in special events and tournaments, championships, fundraisers, and/or clinics to include, but not limited to, major fundraisers, camps, and/or clinics.
15. Subscribes and adheres to the NAIA Coaches Code of Conduct.
16. Adhere and promotes the NAIA Champions of Character student development.
17. Daily field maintenance. (drag, water, game day field prep, post-game field maintenance)
18. Attend all scheduled meetings.
19. Assist in enrolling student-athletes according to the Admissions policies and standards.
20. Adhere to Residence Life procedures to securing housing accommodations.
21. Communicate effectively with all academic/faculty advisors, financial aid, business office, registrar and other university personnel.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Serves as official or committee member as may be requested by those organizations with which the university is affiliated.
2. Participates in Student Affairs Division programs and activities.
3. Serves as liaison for the university community of faculty, staff, students and administrators.
4. Adhere to university policies, state and federal laws concerning Title IX, HIPPA, and FERPA policies.
5. Contribute and support the university vibrancy initiative.
6. Assist and maintain inventory at the beginning and end of the academic year.
7. Assist Head Coach with conducting business within the limits of the allocated budget.
8. Recruit within the limits of the scholarship budget.
9. Assist with all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Thorough knowledge of fundamentals, technical aspects, and strategy for assigned sport.
Ability to recruit and retain qualified athletes and to facilitate timely progress toward graduation.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to learn, apply and adhere to NAIA rules and regulations.
Ability to interact well with officials, coaches, parents, media, and the public.
Ability to operate the softball program within budget parameters.
Understanding of and commitment to the catholic faith and its traditions.
Solid knowledge base of student development theory.
Ability to work with students of all faiths and mentor student-athletes.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with other departments on campus.
Excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including weekend and evening hours.
Playing or coaching experience with club or collegiate programs (required).
