Director of Golf
Sports school in Bradenton, Florida is looking for a Director of Golf.

Position Overview:
Lead the strategic planning, financial success, operational excellence, sport instruction and campus integration of the Golf programs.

Position Responsibilities:
• Lead the overall strategic planning, operational excellence and financial success of the Golf program, while focusing on student-athlete welfare and maintaining a dynamic work environment.
• Develop and execute the long-term strategic vision and plan for comprehensive excellence in the Golf program including the full-time Academy, camps, training for tour players, clinics and tournaments.
• Provide each student-athlete with the resources and leadership to develop to their full potential while excelling in the classroom and preparing for successful lives after graduation.
• Proactively establish, maintain and grow relationships at every level of the program.
• Recruit, motivate and retain expert coaches and support staff.
• Communicate comfortably and effectively with Golf staff, student-athletes, parents, faculty, college coaches, media, professional athletes, sponsors/partners and guests.
• Manage, oversee and follow up on the activities of the Golf program including: player development; program development; camp planning; facility planning and utilization; scheduling of tournaments & clinics; college placement; coaches’ training needs; and handling day-to-day customer communications and requests.
• Oversee the coach certification program.
• Participate in public relations activities including media interviews and speaking engagements.
• Work within Academy structure to address issues pertaining to coach/player/parent behavior and escalate to Athletics Director as appropriate.
• Demonstrate integrity and character in understanding and abiding by the rules and policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (Business, Sports Management, Education preferred) or equivalent
Professional &/or collegiate playing or coaching experience.
Understanding of, and commitment to, excellence in leading a golf program.
In-depth knowledge of golf at every level, including junior, collegiate and professional.
Ability to bring business orientation and operational excellence while focusing on student-athlete welfare and maintaining a dynamic work environment.
Passion for developing student-athletes on and off the course.
Ability to think strategically and to execute strategic plan.
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills with the ability to interface with a variety of audiences.
Highly organized with tremendous work ethic and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced organization.
Ability and desire to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Savvy in strategic thinking, sales and marketing.
A superior work ethic.

Preferred:
Master’s degree in Business, Sports Management, Education or related field.
5 years’ professional &/or collegiate playing/coaching experience.
Experience hiring, motivating and developing coaches.
Knowledge of latest trends in golf training methodologies and technologies.
Understanding of college recruiting processes, rules and current trends.
Extensive relationships with college recruiters, tour players and equipment/technology providers.
