Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Club in Kahuku, Hawaii is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Essential Responsibilities:
• Assists in the operation of the golf course and golf shop and in duties related to customer service, starting, marshalling, tee time reservations, tournament operations, golf lessons and retail merchandising.
• Assists in maintaining a clean, stocked and well-organized display of merchandise in the golf shop.
• Administers and reconciles the daily revenues of the golf shop. Prepares daily revenue reports and bank deposit forms as required.
• Provides a professional image and level of service to guests and vendors.
• Assists the retail department with monthly inventories as assigned by the merchandise manager. Monitors and coordinates the purchases of the hard good inventory.
• Participates in taking and monitoring tee time reservations, tournament, tour group and other advance bookings.
• Provides golf lessons to individuals and groups as requested.
• Assist outside staff in daily operations including greeting, starting, and cart return.
• Maintains a playing ability befitting a golf professional.

Supervisory responsibilities: Manages and coordinates the supervision of employees in the Golf Shop, Retail Department, and Outside Guest Services; assists the head golf professional and director of golf with managing the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Apprentice of the PGA of America in good standing; Successfully passed the Playing Ability Test and registered in the PGA PGM; minimum three years experience in the golf or customer service industry; minimum of three years of supervisory responsibility; working knowledge of USGA Rules of Golf; ability to play and teach golf well; basic knowledge of computers including Windows programs, point-of-sale and tee time software.

Compensation:
$30,000.00 – $35,000.00 per year.
